Revivalist

Revivalist

The Revivalist is a being that has been prepped from birth to house the healing waters of Elsidar. These waters, when placed on the body, give the user great defense against many things. It makes the users stronger, faster, more durable and able to withstand many attacks from virtually any type of energy or magic. These waters are free flowing in the Abyss and many of the darker creatures bath in its warm pools after the pools have passed through the arch of Kal Enth. That arch darkens the waters and makes it so that darker creatures can benefit from their abilities without taking damage from their clearer forms. These waters in clear form, however, are immensely powerful and can actually bring a body from the brink of death directly back to life without a scratch on it. The soulmere can actually be recharged if all of its energy is used. This is the only place known to the Suprema that can recharge a soulmere. Even the Suprema can not do such a thing. (They can make a new one, but not re-energize them.)

The Revivalist have minimal control over these waters and with that control they can heal great wounds with ease. They can use the waters to desanctify lands, items, etc. These waters are damaging to the demon and will revitalize the angel. The Revivalist connection to the waters is not infinite, however, and with every use they are using Metophic Energy to get the waters here. Therefore, they are using their own soulmere with every attack, not will or energy pts. Due to this, if they use their abilities too much in a given day, they can actually kill themselves or even dissolve their soulmere completely. Due to this fact, the Revivalist is usually considered expendable by the church and is taught at a young age that their life and very soul does not matter as long as they die in service to the church.

They are usually very innocent, to a fault, and often live very short lives. Those that do live to be older will begin to learn control of the waters for their own uses and eventually the church will “put them down” instead of having them part with the church and having the other Revivalist learn that they could one day be free of the church as well. Or worse, have them work against the church at some point. (When they are put down, they usually are given an assignment that will get them killed, in one way or another, so that the church doesn’t have to make up a story of their death.)

Note: The Revivalist can domesticate virtually any animal that is not a dark creature.

Note 2: The Revivalist is incapable of using dark powers of any sort and if they try it will damage them rather than others. Revivalists also can not kill or do crime of any sort, or stand to see these things in their presence. This is why all of them are usually kept in the very back of an army, fight, etc. so that no one can heal but not see the fighting that is going on.

Note 3: Almost all Revivalists are female due to the ability to keep them more subordinate than males. The few males that have been made into the Revivalist have fled the church somewhere around their eighteenth birthday and the church had to hunt them down. So far, only one has ever gotten away and the church is still hunting him.

Note 4: Revivalists are placed in the waters of Elsidar on the day of their birth. Usually there are ten to twenty babies that will be put through this and maybe one or two will live. The families of the children that do not survive are paid a stipend and given a place of honor in their church. The church says that the child is taken directly to heaven and given a seat with their god. In truth, the child drowns from the shear weight of the power that is infused into their bodies.

Note 5: It is rumored that a Revivalist can heal any wound, even one inflicted by a Melaney weapon. The rumor started when Gridlok was “healed” from his wounds at the hands of a Revivalist when Chirs Melaney took his arm and leg. The scars were still there but the wounds healed over. Usually, a Melaney that takes damage from a Melaney weapon will never heal the wound and will bleed for years before the bleeding even stops, much less healing over an entire missing limb. It is thought that it was the Emperors quick thinking and the abilities of a Revivalist that made the two computerized chips in Gridlok’s head possible as well. They motorize his hand and foot and do many other things as well. (See Gridlok, Rob, C.H.I.P.)

Note 6: If a party member dies, instead of using one of their three lives, take them to a Revivalist within three days of their death. If you make it in time, the Revivalist can bring them back from the dead. This will cost, but it is better than losing a life.

Note 7: All healing spells for the Revivalist are cut in half for cost and deal double the healing. Magic that is targeted at the Revivalist will be cut in half. Area effect of magic will also be cut in half. The Revivalist can not be targeted at all by Black or Grey Magic and all White Magic Spells are double their effect on and from the Revivalist.
