Due to the usage of demons and angels on the planet, the Exorcist came about to expel these beings when they got away from their hosts. If a demon were to get away and then possess someone, the Exorcist would be there to defeat the demon and expel them. If an angel were to get loose across the land and be wrecking havoc, the Exorcist would be called to help send them back. The Exorcist is also the group that calls themselves Witch, Demon, Vampire, Werewolf, and Monster hunters due to their abilities to take down such beings. They often are very skilled fighters and know everything there is to know about their prey.

The Exorcist will have religious items, books, etc. that will aide them in their tasks of taking down these otherworldly beings. These items, in the hands of the Exorcist will be incredibly powerful, but in anyone else’s hands will be nothing more than regular weapons. This is due to the rigorous training and the many different religious ceremonies that are placed upon the Exorcist. Before one can leave the monastery, they will have trained for ten years straight, they will have tattoos on their bodies that will help to seal demons from them, stop spirits from touching them, etc. Their skin will have been dipped in the sacramental waters of Elsidar, which will make them not only extremely durable, but also virtually untouchable by other worldly beings. Most Exorcists are devout and thus would be extremely hard to sway off of there tasks as they believe that they are on a “holy mission”.
The weapons that they use are all sanctified and each will have some thing within them that will make otherworldly beings quiver. Due to this, they will not use normal weapons, though they can use common weapons, but they will sanctify them before use.

They can not be the target of holy weapons and religious weapons/icon/items, etc. will deal only half damage if any. Area attacks with these same weapons will deal damage as normal.
The Exorcist can see in most sights, allowing them to see the spirits, demons, etc. that they are fighting. They can, however, also “feel” these beings when they are close by. They use this ability to feel them to find out right away what they are dealing with. Each of the Exorcists are trained in the ability to find the creatures and attack them wherever they may be hiding.

Due to their training and the many years of religious teachings, they know the perfect weapons for each creature they fight and how to ward them off when needed. Most of these dark creatures will steer clear of the Exorcist until they simply have no other choice but to fight them.

Note: Anthorian Rangers are Exorcists first. The Rangers are the only beings on the planet that have ever gone head to head with a Melaney and walked away from the ordeal without outside interference. They did not win the fight, but they were able to take on the Melaney directly for three days before losing power enough to end the fight. The Melaney in question stopped the fight at this point and could have gone forward, but the fight was considered a draw. (See Anthorian Rangers)

Note 2: Most Exorcists want nothing more than to fight Death Stalker directly and will often have that as their end goal. They simply want to be able to fight him directly to see if they have the power to stand toe to toe with what they believe to be the ultimate evil.

Note 3: Exorcists come in many different varieties. The ones that work directly for the church are not trained in all of the fighting, but are much more powerful when it comes to expelling demons and angels. The ones that roam are the Demon Hunters, Witch Hunters, etc. These beings are balanced between power and physicality so that they can survive if they are attacked by most of the main level demons. If a High Rank demon or angel is on the planet, the churches will call out many different Exorcists to defeat them. Never has there been a top tier angle or demon on the planet that has gotten away from their handler, but the last high tier that got loose killed one Melaney, seven Exorcists and an entire city of people before being put down by Chris Melaney and David Melaney fighting together. It was also the last time these two were seen on the planet. Though it is thought that David survived the encounter, for after the angel was defeated, Chris and David fought but David had the upper hand for he had held back during the battle with the top tier angel. It is believed that David Melaney is the Emperor of Achilleos, but none have seen him in over three hundred years to be able to confirm this rumor.

Note 4: There are seven churches on the planet that will actually unite to defeat a threat of any real magnitude. These churches do not get along, do not believe the same things and will cut each other down when they can, but when it is the entire planet in danger, they will work hand in hand. Usually, after the defeat of the threat, they will go back to warring on one another. Many of these churches will send Exorcists to try and destroy a temple or community that the other church controls. The power play between then is much like gangs fighting over territory, but on a much larger scale.
