Magician

The Magician is considered the lowest of all the mental users when it comes to overall power. This is because the magician usually is using mental abilities and magic together. Much like the Illusionist, but with some very distinctive differences. The Magician uses slide of hand, like the Illusionist, but to a much stronger degree. Most of the tricks that the Magician uses are fake outs, slide of hand, or distractions. They rarely use actual power. That said, a Master Magician can be a very scary thing to fight.

First, the Magician will spend years learning all of their tricks. Most Magicians are learning from a former Magician rather than a society or a school like the Illusionist. Thus many of their tricks are unduplicatable by any that do not train in the same manner as they are. That is not to say they can’t learn a trick and do it similarly to the other person’s, but it will not be the same. This makes it very hard to fight a Magician because no two will be the same unless you are fighting a family member of a family you have already fought.

Second, the Magician uses traps, tricks and distractions evenly. A Magician can set a complicated trap up while running and place it without being seen. This makes it so that a Magician doesn’t fatigue when setting traps at all. It also means that a Magician can place much more complicated traps than their Illusionist counterparts. This is handy if they find they are “out-gunned” and need to get away.

Now, a Magician uses magic as well, but not in the same manner as most other magic users. Magician’s craft their outfits to have many hidden compartments and virtually everything that they carry or own will have something hidden within it. Due to this, they can cause a distraction in many different ways. Using the distraction of doves being thrown in the air, or a beautiful girl seeming to fall out of nowhere, the Magician will then take their signature color (they all have a color of magic that they use) and use light magic from that color. Due to their training (which is something that has been passed down in all of the families) the Magician can actually augment certain spells that they have learned using mental attacks as well. Thus the magic spell will gain the spells attack, the player’s magic attack and the player’s mental attack all into a single blast. This can actually triple a simple spell like fire ball, or water ball, etc.

Though Magicians don’t gain the same magic boosts as other magic users when learning their craft, the boosts of the magic itself is often enough to give them the upper hand for a short time in a fight. Being the master escapists that they are, they use their abilities for escaping a fight the moment that they believe they can not win the fight. Most will have at least two ways of escape before the fight even begins.

Note: Due to their nature, a Magician that is 1/2 the way up their scale of learning, can start learning a second magic as well, though they can not get beyond the second tier of this magic.

Note 2: Magicians will not use weapons of any sort, but instead will use their outfits as weapons. Many will have hidden Magician daggers, which they can throw and usually have some ability tied to them. The Most powerful will often have an arsenal on them at all times. The Masters will also be so versed in using these weapons that they could take on a swordsman level player using just their weapons.

Note 3: Like most mental users, the Magician can use their ability as raw power in a single blast, which will simply be their mental attack blasted at someone. This will fatigue them for 1 rd. and depletes their mental points for the next 3, but it is a last ditch effort and sometimes pays off.
