Death Dealer
The Death Dealer is incredibly rare to come across as they are made more through a freak of nature than being created. The Death Dealer is born with certain traits that make them viable to becoming a Revivalist, but when put into the waters of Elsidar, their bodies react very differently than those of the Revivalist. At first, the church would simply discard these babies as throw backs and leave them to die, but Vincent and another Demon-God known as Malachi learned of them and began saving the babies for their own twisted means. It took three hundred years, but Malachi learned the necessary conditions of these babies to become Revivalists and tried the same thing but with the darker side of the waters on the other side of the arch of Kal Enth. These babies would either die, or would have the reactions of a Revivalist. The ones that lived became Death Dealers and the ones that died became sacrifices to the Death Dealer’s power. (See Vincent Augomoto, Malachi, Kal Enth.)
A Death Dealer can cut a mortal’s life in half simply by touching them. They can pull all of a mortals soulmere out of their body to themselves if they simply touch that mortal. They can use their power to wilt plants, kill creatures, destroy entire walls. Most believed that the Death Dealer was pushing the entity that they were defeating through time, but this is not the case. The Death Dealer “steals” the Metophic Energy from the entity and thus the entity falls apart. If it is a living entity, then the Death Dealer will pull from its soulmere. If it is an inanimate object, such as a wall, the Death Dealer disrupts the Metophic Energy within the wall and pulls it from the wall, crumbling the remaining energies and molecules down on themselves. Usually this will result in an explosion.
They can remove healing from any item that has it, they can put a field down that will keep healing from being used in a given area. They can even harm immortals to a degree, but this is not been documented directly.
The Death Dealer can use their death abilities much like someone would use healing abilities. Thus they can lay hands on anyone and begin dealing damage to them. The Masters can do this from a distance but it becomes very hard to control the farther it is from the source.
The Death Dealer will destroy undead that touch them, decaying their flesh to virtually nothing within seconds of the touch. Living dead will be able to defend a bit longer, but will ultimately succumb to the power as well. All undead are “turned” when nearing the Death Dealer and will run off in fear to survive. Vampires and the like will either attack on sight or flee if they can get away.
The Death Dealer can “hear” the Demon-Gods that are within a given area. If they so choose, they can all upon them for help within certain situations and the Demon-Gods will send aide for a price. This aide will usually come in the form of spells, powers, abilities, but will sometimes come in the form of a summoning.
Note: All Voodoo and Hoodoo characters started off as Death Dealers.
Note 2: Death Dealers can not be healed by conventional means and healing them can actually harm them. To heal the Death Dealer will use other’s soulmere and consume it as 1 pts of life per every 5 pts. of soulmere.
Note 3: The Death Dealer will usually make pacts with many different Demon-Gods for power, peace, etc. These pacts will not sell the soul of the Death Dealer, as that was given up when the Death Dealer became what they are. Their soul was removed from their bodies when they were placed in the waters and they survived as a soulless being from that moment forward. This is why most of them are “evil”.
Note 4: The Death Dealer is not inherently evil and many have worked for the “good-guys” in wars. The issue is that they rarely have a conscious and empathy is something they rarely understand. When they do work for the “good-guys” it is always for some mutually beneficial reason. They rarely follow a cause and even more rarely will follow a religion. Vincent and Malachi learned this when it was too late and found that the children of the Death Dealer are born with souls, but with many of the powers of the Death Dealer. Thus the plan of an army of Death Dealers to work for these two was nearly squashed. But they are still trying.
Note 5: Death Dealers can’t use White Magic directly, but can mix it with other magics as long as White is not the main magic that they are using.
Note 6: Death Dealers are feared as though they were Witch/Warlocks. They live up to their names as a young one will have taken hundreds of lives before they even began learning their abilities. This is due to the transfer of soulmere on the touch of their skin. Even a Supre Mald touching one of the Death Dealers will lose soulmere to the Death Dealer. This is how many of the Master Death Dealers become Voodooist and Hoodooists. (See Voodooist and Hoodooist.)
Note 7: Death Dealers can not be the target of curses of any sort. They can also cast curses as though they were spells without paying the extra soulmere cost. (See Curses.)
