Wicca/Wiccan

Wicca/Wiccan

Often confused with the Witch/Warlock, the Wicca are very powerful magic users that use magic in a different way than most magic users. Where most magic users do one of three ways of using magic, pooling, bathing, or imbuing, the Wicca allow their bodies to become part of the magic that they are using. This is why most Wicca will learn only one color through their entire lives. This allows them to deal double damage from their spells and take ½ damage from all save the opposing color of their magic. (In case of someone using White magic, the Wicca will take normal damage only from Black Magic. All other magics will deal ½ their damage to the Wicca.) Due to this interesting way of becoming one with the magic, the Wicca can see things that are connected to the magic. If they are using White Magic, for instance, and another user is using the same, but on the opposite side of the probe, the Wicca can “feel” their use to know what they are doing at the time. This doesn’t work if the user is asleep, but awake, all users pull magic in small intervals and the Wicca can hone in on that. This also works for other magics that are of the same Persona. (See Persona, See Magics.)

The Wicca have certain drawbacks to their character due to becoming one with the magic. Wicca’s can only choose magic of their similar Persona and have to stay true to that alignment or the magic will actually deal them damage. (If a character is of pure good alignment and they steal something, they will actually take damage for whatever they steal. It will depend on the thing that is stolen. Also, if they do something that isn’t in direct defiance of their Alignment, but they know that their action will lead to something in direct defiance of their actions, they will still take damage for it.)

Whichever magic they choose will also cause them to shift alignments to suite its alignment. If the player is one Persona down from the magics, they will shift upward to the Persona of the magic over time. This is involuntary and will be unnoticeable by the Wicca.

Due to their nature, a Wicca of White Magic, will not be able to stand on a ground that is sanctified by Black Magic. So if the Wicca were to step on the grounds of a church that is devoted to Black Magic and the users had sanctified the grounds there, the Wicca would take damage simply by being on the grounds. She can counteract this, but it will cost and most will simply avoid those grounds. Likewise, the Wicca can sanctify a ground to the specification of their own color to ensure that those of the opposing color can not enter without taking damage. This is common practice for all Wicca/Wiccan and Witch/Warlocks.

Wicca will be adept in all spells of their color so much so that it will cost less to cast the spells of that color. This will depend on how powerful the Wicca becomes, but some of the more powerful Wicca were able to cast massive spells in rapid succession without the use of too much manna. This come in handy in long battles, which is almost always the case against Witches.

The Wicca will also tie themselves to a land that they love. This land will grant them certain abilities as well, giving the ability of strength, speed, low manna cost, etc. while they are on the land. Due to this, many Wicca will mix viles of their land into the potions that they brew to allow the spells to be more powerful, even when not on the land that they are from.

Potions are common place for both the Wicca and the Witch. Most spells that they use are immensely powerful and take a long time to finish. As they are doing a single spell, the entire battle could be decided and their spell no longer even helpful. Therefore, most will brew large batches of different types of potions that will allow them to destroy the vile it is in and have the spell be cast immediately. These potions can take weeks to brew and massive amounts of manna consumed, but the Wicca will continue making them until they have the spells ready for their use. Once they are done, they will store the viles somewhere in their home and keep on them only a handful. When they get into trouble, they can use these viles just like spells. Throwing one, two or three at a time and spending only ½ the amount of manna it would take to cast the original spells (sometimes even less). While these spells are keeping their opponents busy, the Wicca casts a larger spell to defend, assault, whatever. Since this is common practice, everyone is expecting it if they come across one of these users.

Note: Due to their becoming one with the magic, they can summon any of the creatures of the magic without fail, but they can also become any of the creatures as well, using the talents and abilities of the creature as well as their own. This makes them extremely powerful if they learn summons spells of creatures that are defensive to certain attacks and then their own power is added to that creature. (Case in point, if a user can summon a Mage Worm (which are extremely defensive to energy attacks) and add their own magic to the Mage Worm, then they will be virtually unbeatable to an energy user.

Note 2: Wicca do not practice the arts of Undamor but they can do the practice when they choose. (Undamor is the art of taking someone’s belongings and using it in a spell to bind the spell to the person. Witches use this on a regular basis, but Wicca rarely practice it.) They can, however, use this to bind healing magics to people and help them recover faster. It is considered a crime among Wicca to practice this without the knowledge and compliance of the victim.

Note 3: Wicca can use their magic to “Magic Shift” through the strands of the magic. This allows them to move from their current position to the position of anyone using the magic. This is rarely used due to its unstable nature. It is just as likely that the magic user will accidentally connect to someone on the other side of the probe as the person two towns over that they are trying to connect to. This is due to the fact that magic doesn’t understand distance and thus one person of similar abilities to another will seem the same to the Wicca when attempting this spell.

Note 4: Wicca are susceptible to Religious abilities that are of a different nature than their magic. (See Religious abilities). Due to this, they often will avoid working with anyone that is of a religious nature, regardless if they are a similar or opposite religion, for fear of having to come in contact with the opposing zealot. (All religious abilities will deal double damage to the Wicca if they are of opposing nature.)

Note 5: Due to their very nature, Wiccan’s can not be attacked by common creatures. No matter the domestication. Creatures, beasts, etc. will simply not attack a Wiccan as they see them as a good thing rather than a bad. This does not extend to non-domesticated creatures, beasts, etc. But if a player commands their creatures, beast, etc. to attack a Wiccan directly, the creature, beast, etc. will turn on the owner in defense of the Wiccan and the Wiccan will take control of the creature, beast, etc. Be wary of the Wicca.

Note 6: Wicca will work together to take down Witches and remove other stains on thier areas. In doing this their magic is intensified and they all will be able to draw on the pools of one another. Their magics will become twice to three times as powerful when all of them are using the same spell. (The Coven, as it is called, will consist of at least five Wicca and usually one head Wicca, making six in all. It is rare to find them with more than this. Often the Wiccan will be the sixth, adding his power to the Coven will balance the magic in strange ways that usually result in the Coven being even more powerful, the Wicca  individually being able to draw on more energy and their defenses becoming heightened in certain ways. As each Coven is different, it all depends on the Coven as per what abilities are added. Be wary of the Coven, for they hold the truth of life and death in their hands.
