Trained from birth as assassins, killers or thieves, the Xefalonion are the second most technologically advanced race on the probe. They rely on their tech more than magic if they use magic at all. Some will use mental abilities as well, but usually only as an extension of their own abilities to kill, steal, or sneak. Rarely does a Xefalonion use magic, mental or energy without it being connected to their technology in some way or another. They once believed themselves the prominent fighting force on the probe, using fighting styles that other races had never seen, much less have a way to fight back against. This continued for a time when the Xefalonion had Conquered most of the known probe just after the Second Melaney war. During this time, the Xefalonion had crash landed on the probe near Rikinia and started cutting a bloody swath outward in all directions. Few could stand against them save for the handful of Melaney that were left on the probe and the technology of the Xefalonion was equal to the task of defeating the few that stood against them. However, they made a fatal mistake when they were on the Continent of Palama. Killing a young king, they started a war that they didn’t believe possible, and were not ready for.
One of the Rattle Kings sons was out on an expedition when the Xefalonion hunting party came across them and killed him in battle (It took twelve of them to take him down and he was only sixteen). Once he was dead, they took his carcass back to their main base and paraded it around laughing and telling of the foolishness the creature had in confronting them. They thought it a beast and didn’t realize it was an actual race. This did not sit well with the Rattle Kings and both of them came together to choose war, which they had previously denied their people. Once all the Rattle nations stood together, the Xefalonion began dropping like flies. The fight took another three years but every day the Xefalonions were giving up more and more land to the Rattle, and other races were taking up the fight again. By the time it was done, the ship that carried over three hundred thousand Xefalonion housed only three hundred and those within had to surrender its technology or be wiped from the face of the probe by the pissed off Kings. They surrendered and a hundred of them were taken as slaves and given to the Whelif and the Rile Tera. The rest were scattered and told never to mass in any given society with more than five of them at a time or the Rattle Kings would reunite the clans and eradicate them all. This was not an idle threat and today, some three thousand years later, that is still carved atop the throne of the Rattle Kings. The Xefalonions have taken it to heart as well and live in very small communities but will not enter other societies in packs of more than five.

Agility Master: Xefalonions are born with heightened agility and are usually double jointed. This makes them very good at avoiding attacks and mastering new fighting styles. (See Agility Master)
Xefo Luthi : A type of martial arts that adds technology into the other all fighting style. The user must have Agility 4 or higher to use this style or they will literally harm themselves when attempting it. It is akin to Rattilian Bone fighting, but doesn’t require as much strength. The user can flip around in such a ways as to avoid physical attacks or energy attacks while still attacking at the same time. (Costs 5 Stam. Allows user to defend and counter attack using any weapon in hand. Opponent must be in range for this to work, or the user must have a projectile weapon. Doesn’t count as a counter attack.) (See Counter Attack, Attack, Rattilian Bone Fighting).
Weapon 1: Allows user to start the game with their favorite weapon on the field. (Costs Stam. Equal to the Brik cost and the Training cost combined). (See Weapon 1)

The Xefalonions live in tribes in many different areas of the probe. They have one central space that they call a city, but it is more like a collection of tribes all living in one place rather than a city and most other races steer clear of this city. It is in Rikinia, where they originally landed and they uses pieces of their old ship to create small scale cities that are touching but sectioned off from one another. The city doesn’t have an official name, but it is called Arcadia by the locals. In Arcadia, the law will change from one street to another, depending on which tribe rules. None of the tribes will fight one another, save for the occasional squabbles over territory or jurisdiction, but nothing that would actually bring them to war. Those that do visit the city find technological marvels at every turn, but usually don’t make it out of the city alive without heavy guard. The Xefalonion people no longer have tolerance of other races. Especially any that enslaved their people at the fall of Gothan. (The battle ship that they crash landed in was called Gothan 1.)
The Xefalonions wear masks to shield their faces from the outside world. This is something they did when they were off planet and it is assumed that someone within their society knows why this is the case, but none speak of the reasoning to any outside race. The mask, when first acquired, is placed with no adornments and no color other than white. With every accomplishment, a new adornment is placed on the mask. Those with brilliant, colorful masks are the ones to fear the most. These masks are worn at all times and are not even removed when eating. Most have some sort of movement in them to allow food to be placed into the mouth, while others have straw like devices that slurp up food for the wearer. A Xefalon without his/her mask is considered an outcast and shunned from all the society. Even an orphan will be given a mask before being sold to slavery, or given over to another race for disposal.
As of this date, there are twelve tribes that work outside of the main city. There are other tribes, but all of them report to one of these twelve tribes in tribute of one sort or another. It is known that these tribes war with one another, but constantly war with the outside probe more. They can be paid to deliver death unto anyone on the probe. Only the Koltu is higher in body counts to that of the twelve tribes. The only contracts that the tribes will not take are those against the Rattle. Anyone else on the probe is fair game.
Once every ten years, all the Xefalon will come together at the city of Arcadia and there is a massive twenty day feast to issue in the games. These games will choose the chiefs for the following ten years. When the fighting is done, those that still have their lives will rule the separate tribes. Those that have failed will have paid with their lives. During this time, the city is shut down and only Xefalon are allowed through the gates, save for the occasional onlooker that has the Chieftain’s approval. This is rare, but has happened three times. At the end of the games, the high Chief will pick three warriors to send to Palama to the Temple of Shod, where the Rattle King will await a small offering from them. This has been a ceremony that has been upheld for over a thousand years.
Xefalon young are brought up to hate weakness and those that are considered weak will have a chance on their twelfth birthday to prove themselves part of the clan. If they fail, they die. If they succeed, they are taken in as part of the tribe and whatever handicap they have is forgotten by the rest of the tribe and simply overlooked from that day forward. The training that Xefalon’s go through starts when they are two and continues until they are twelve. By the age of nine, the Xefalon are similar to a full grown adult of human decent, but are still much smaller. Their fighting prowess, ability to assess the situation and strength are all on par with the adult human, but they are much more agile than most human could ever be and they have complete control of most of their muscles. This is due to the fact that most Xefalon only live to the age of forty before dying of old age. (That is if they don’t use technology to continue on.)
The Xefalon cities are much huts and teepees that look as though they were built hastily and with little thought to décor or elegance, however, inside the huts the single family unit will have up to twenty rooms, all of which are more than big enough for three people to live without being cramped. This is due to a technology that allows them to “bend” space. This bending is used with their suites as well, where they are able to store much more weapons and armor than any other race. Often a Xefalon will produce a weapon without anyone seeing where he/she got it from and the weapon is far too big for them to have been able to pull it from their own clothes.
The clothes of a Xefalon, known as their Yomoo, are a technological marvel unto themselves. Each is created for the Xefalon when they are three years of age. These clothes, made from some type of microfiber, will grow with the Xefalon and are insulated so that the wearer can walk through subzero temperatures or through a fire without being harmed or even noticing the change in temperature. The Yomoo gives a +10 defense bonus to all defense stats and has its own defenses as well. (See Yomoo)
The Xefalon will collect all technology that they can come across and use it to their advantage in whatever why they see fit. Usually this is used for personal gain rather than the gain of the tribe, for all of the Xefalon would like to one day be the Chief of the tribe and all of them are looking to step on the others to gain that position. New tech is always a good way to get ahead.
Xefalon have little use of Gods and believe that the deities are simply beings that have mastered some tech that they have yet to understand.
Sociopath (16) – Their entire race are raised to hate other races and to despise weakness. Due to this, any that are brought up in the civilization will be a Sociopath by the time they are able to speak due to their own experiences.
Xefalon have near complete control of every muscle in their bodies. As such, an attack that is supposed to numb a body part or paralyze it will not work on a Xefalon unless it paralyses all body parts at the same time. Mind control is virtually impossible on a Xefalon due to their ability to control all the muscles in their body to work against the will of the person trying to control their minds (+20 Men. Defense).
Xefalon are hard to play due to their distrust of other races and thus will usually not join into a party without being paid. Thus anyone wanting to play this character will have a hard time as they will be mostly on their own for the duration of game play, unless the party consists of someone the player has come to trust or the player is being paid. Also, Xefalon are hard to play because they have little impulse control when it comes to their anger. When they get made, they see red and attack over small sleights. This is why they are hired as bouncers or mercenaries and rarely allowed into societal places. (To play this character, the player must first roll a 1d6 and get a 4-6. The first roll is free, but the following rolls will cost 1,000 training per attempt.)
Xefalon don’t trust easily, but once they call someone “friend” it is for life. The friend can stab them in the back, literally, and the Xefalon will be displeased, but will still never raise a finger against them. This is one of the reasons that they don’t open up to others easily at all. Usually they will kill anyone that they feel they are getting too close to, or they will simply move away from them and try to never see them again.
